MONEY

Why do people earn money? To be able to do all that they want to ?To be able to spend quality time with their near and dear ones .These are some of the reasons that people actually work very hard for , to have sufficient money .But very often we see people work so hard to earn money that they forget why they are earning money. Is it just for the sake of money that people earn money? THE IRONY

I really find some things very ironical.Indian people’s obsession with things that are western.Be it their complexion ,women , etc.Why are Indians so obsessed with western things? Why are they so obsessed that they even try to pick up on the slangs that these westerners say?I find it very irritating when I see people with such behavioural trends. The most ironical part about the whole thing is that Indians ape all that is western. What they fail to ape or do not want to ape are the good qualities that these people have.Let’s start with hygiene for that matter. There are many people who in their attempt to ape the westerners speak obscene words try and dress like them speak in a false accent and if they happen to visit one of these western countries they can go on about it for years together. They even manage to find an audience who listens to them. But how many of these people actually care to use a dustbin , be careful about not spitting on roads , not talking loudly on mobile phones or not mercilessly honking without a care in the world.Traffic as it is stresses people out .Why do people in India add to the stress by adding noise pollution to it.Things abroad are much better and good. Why do they not try to make India like that. All people have to do is follow rules. There are people who say nothing can happen in India? Why?Well it might take years but people can atleast initiate things. A THOUGHT ON EQUALITY

Equality means so many different things to different people. If one observes there are so many issues that come up with equality. What I want to talk about today is the basic fundamental idea of equality.Equality among human beings. The fact that all human beings are equal no matter what country they belong to , no matter what colour their skin is ,no matter what their religion ,caste or creed is.For so many years we have had seen white supremacy. Can we actually call a person superior because of the complexion of the skin he or she has?For many years the answer was yes.But now we see that people do not actually believe it to be like that.Barack H Obama being the president of the United States Of America says a lot about people’s mentality on the issue. Open Letter to DG. . .

I always wanted to write an open letter to someone who is in command of some kind of power. Not because I have some revolutionary ideas, but because we Bharatiya love preaching; no matter if the person is even interested or not. I’ve already told you in the last post about the conceiving the idea and why there is so much delay in executing it; so let us not waste any more time and start with the letter. . .

India; Slums sums to Scramble???

In today’s Hindustan Times there is an article by Ms. Namita Bhandare about the much talked movie Slumdog Millionaire directed by Danny Boyle. I wanted to provide you with a link to the story, but of all the newspaper’s website, Hindustan Times has the worst.

Section 49-O???

If you are of generation-x then you surely have an e-mail id, and 99.99% chances are you check it regularly for mails. Everytime we open the mail box there is bound to be atleast one SPAM [SPAM- Shit Posing As Mail; Stupid Pointless Annoying Message and many more like these]; but this post is not about SPAM. If you want to know anything more about SPAM then Google it. I did once when one of my marketing lecturers asked the official full form of spam in class and left saying will tell you next time. It was then I came to know about the complete history about the origination of word SPAM but no official full form as asked by him [probably that’s why his next class about SPAM never came]. Anyways let’s get back to e-mails!

The Professional Dress Code!!!

A point to make first, this is the 100th post on zhagdoo. So congrats to all.

The HR summit is a thing of past now, and the college has moved ahead. Something or the other is always happening here and there is plenty to talk about. For instance the college celebrated our DG’s birthday today. Well I don’t think it is the right place to comment on it, nor I have the right comments to make about it, so let us leave it for the time being. But let me take this opportunity to talk about one phenomenon which came to my notice during the HR summit itself. It is about the dressing for a formal event in a B school. Education. . .

By any chance have you ever read any of the movie reviews I have written? If not then take out some time to read them, and if possible try to check out the reviews of the same movies published somewhere else. After going through this exercise you will be able to note a peculiar thing about all of them. Well actually it is not certain if you will actually be able to note the peculiarity in it, although you must have noted the point earlier also. To ease the things, let me tell you about it. Each review of every movie says the same thing about it. If they say the movie is good then all find it good and if they say the movie is waste of time and money then all of them find it useless scum.

NEWS-Never Ending Whiner’s Society

With infinite number of news channels, hardly a day passes without getting their glimpse or two. Going by the genre, currently news channels take the lead and the trend is here to stay. Media or electronic media, to be precise enough, has gone through a rapid transformation. Just a few years back from only hourly news on Doordarshan to 24X7 news channels, the leap has been immense and praise worthy for sure. And going by the popular perception this is good news. Getting to know what is happening in and around the world and that too not just from a government mouth piece is something for which anyone can vie for. With newspapers a little time consuming and radios a little obsolete, one definitely prefers a quick bite on the television.

Stung with Stinking Sting

Just a few days back the newspaper carried a story of 3 alleged blackmailers being arrested by the police, who were trying to extort money from 3 Jharkhand MPs. But they were not like any other blackmailers. They were special as their modus operandi included sting operations. They purposely tried to get the MPs involved in some way or the other so that they can carry out their so called sting operation, and then demanded money from them in return of keeping their sting away from public. Same day there was another news item Continue reading “Stung with Stinking Sting”

Whose Freedom of Expression?

On the afternoon of May 9th, Niraj Jain, an advocate and BJP activist, led a gang of Hindu supremacist thugs from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad [VHP] in invading the Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) fine arts faculty, manhandling Chandramohan Srilamantula, and tearing down paintings and art installations exhibited in the annual appraisal show for final-year students. The Hindu supremacists also hurled abuses at faculty and students. The authorities at the university suspended the acting Dean of the fine arts faculty, Shivaji Panikkar.
