General Elections 2009

With today’s poling general elections for the 15th Lok Sabha are over [don’t know why they are called general elections, when nothing is general in them]. One last and perhaps the most important development will take place on 16th may when the results will be declared. Everyone wrote a lot about the elections; so much talking was done about the campaigning; all time favourite Mr. Modi, the new emergent Varun Gandhi the routine stuff and some rare as well. So let us also do some talking on the elections. Continue reading “General Elections 2009”

Advani Code IV- Secular Jinnah!

A friend of mine recently said Mr. Advani is a confused man, in context with his statements like ‘Babri was the saddest day of my life’ and ‘Jinnah was secular’. For all those who believe Mr. Advani is a confused man or whatever because of these statements then I would suggest them to read the ‘Advani Series’. He is by any far means one of the most successful politician of the country whose words hold a lot more than what meets the eyes.

Let us take this time out, to talk about the ‘secular Jinnah episode’ which is the most complex Advani Code till date. Continue reading “Advani Code IV- Secular Jinnah!”

The Hijack Hue and Cry!!!

On 24th December 1999, Indian Airlines flight IC-814 was hijacked by Pakistani terrorists. After 8 days of suffering 3 dreaded terrorists were released in exchange of 166 hostages. Whenever the BJP talks about the UPA government’s failure in tackling terrorism and internal security, this ghost of Christmas past comes to haunt them.

Again and again the congress sights this incidence to highlight BJP’s failure on internal security plank. Continue reading “The Hijack Hue and Cry!!!”

Mumbai Mayhem Phase III; The Aftermath!

One certain thing about the Mumbai Nariman House [home to a Jewish organization] terrorist attack, it was due to the hatred against Jews. It was not spontaneous killing, but a pre planned attack. Had the sole aim of terrorists was to kill Jews; they would have done it in any country with substantial Jewish population. With the Jew killing in India, various countries all of a sudden woke up to the idea of terrorist organizations operating from Pakistani soil. This is the first time that the US is directly pressurizing Pakistan to check the terrorist outfits operating from there. But then why the terrorist will do something that will cause problem to Pakistani government?

Mumbai Mayhem Phase I & II

The recent Mumbai terrorist attack was by any means one of the worst which we have faced. All the dead and injured tells the complete story of the attack. The whole world saw the 3 day encounter live on their televisions. The entire country mourned as the security personnel bravely fought. A lot of talking is currently on about the incident. Lots of blame games are played and too many conclusions are been drawn. But one thing which everyone agrees to, it was a total failure on our part. Yes it was and it still is.

Poor CM!!!

The city which was long ago labeled unsafe for women [by media], which recently saw serial blasts has witnessed another murder and this time of a journalist in broad [not day] night light. Not good for the image of national capital which these journalists have long being calling as crime capital. We will talk about that later, but first about our beloved CM. Encounters and Truth

Two days back two terrorists were killed by Delhi police in an encounter in the Jamia Nagar area of south Delhi. During the encounter Delhi police inspector MC Sharma, leading the team, also got killed from bullet injuries. The terrorists killed were the alleged people behind last week Delhi serial blast.

August 15. . .

By the time I’ll complete this post it’ll be 17th of august. Initially I planned to write something about the 62nd Independence Day, and I did write few lines but nothing much clicked me. Against my perception, it was not easy to write about our independence. It is not that there is nothing to write about, there is lot, but writing those things which have already been written again and again by so many people is not my style [and will try to stick to it].

Who stands Where? In times of Political Turmoil…

Its almost one and half month since I wrote a post related to some political stuff. Not because I was too busy doing other things, but the fact is for the past 2-3 months, our politically unstable country was very stable. Nothing much was happening in the arena, except those regular cry outs about inflation. The all time favourite cast issue, and as always accusations of politics being played in name of religion [it is not that the land dispute of Amarnath Shrine board was something to ignore, but similar things have already been discussed so many times]. Left’s warning of withdrawing support if the government planned to go ahead with the nuclear deal [which had started appearing like a daily mantra, to be enchanted in the media to show that they also exists]. But then 2 days ago, the Left sent the country into a political turmoil it was talking about for a long time now. They declared the withdrawal of [external] support to the UPA government and making them short of required numbers. Continue reading “Who stands Where? In times of Political Turmoil…”

PPP-Patil Played Politics

Few days back, impeccably dressed with not even a single hair out of place our Honourable Home Minister, very swiftly and in his suave manner declared that hanging Afzal Guru [an Indian in Indian jail, accused and proven guilty of treachery in parliament attack case, even by the supreme court] will lead to Pakistan hanging of Sarabjit [an Indian in Pakistani jail, in a case of mistaken identity]. His argument, you can not talk about execution of death penalty on one hand and clemency on other.

What will happen Next?

For too long the voice of Pakistani people was unheard. For too long the people were objected to tyranny and oppression. For too long the situation kept on deteriorating and for too long the people had given up hope. But with the exiled leaders coming back to the country and things taking different turn, of lately a new ray hope started to appear. And then in the final week of the final month of last year, the former premier of Pakistan Mrs. Benazir Bhutto was assassinated. The assassination was at a time when Pakistan was finally heading towards democracy.

It has been almost a week since whole drama surrounding bhaji’s racial abuse has turned into a fisaco, the ace indian spinner escaping serious punishment by proofing that he never said anything racial to Mr. Andrew Symonds aka Roy, though Bhaji claimed he abused him, well i have already discussed this issue in my previous post “cricket BADBOYSContinue reading “Are Indians Racist???”

Developing Secular India. . .

Recently the Prime Minister said that 15% of our country’s resources should be exclusively kept reserved for minorities. He talked about reserving certain per cent of our development budget and providing them with many other facilities. Every now and then our government at the centre keeps on talking about the poor living conditions of minorities and the level of their under development. It is good that the government is concerned about the poor and want to provide them with facilities for their betterment and upliftment. So now for the minorities to prosper this is the new mantra formulated by our intelligent polity in power.
