New Year; New Beginning

This is the first post which I am posting in the new year so first of all happy new year to all [well I know it is a little late]. The delay in my making a post is not because I was too busy in my New Year celebrations, and had no time to make one. But because of the fact that this will be the first post of year 2008, so I was simply short of ideas about the subject. It is not that I was totally blank, infact I had a few plots but none of them materialized. So one might be wondering as to what the subject of this New Year post is, which almost took me 2 weeks to write. I think we will soon figure it out.

Leg-End Legend

Will Smith racing in a sports car with his dog, on the deserted New York streets. No he is not flashing it for the girls to notice; neither is he part of any street racing gang.

He is out there with his sniper rifle, not following any terrorist to hunt him down but trying to a catch a deer or two (it can be a reindeer also, can’t say for sure). If you were wondering what the future will be like, then ‘I am Legend’ is certainly not the place to look out for.

Wedding Season Again

It is the wedding season again. Everyday hundreds and thousands of people are tying the holy knot of matrimony. Day by day this once in a lifetime affair is becoming bigger and grander. People are ready to go to any limits for making it memorable and the big fat Indian wedding has truly come of age. Wedding season in India is full of enthusiasm, fun, frolic and not to forget those sleepless nights [spend by the bride and groom in you know what, and by the relatives in celebrations].

According to a ‘Recent Study’

Surveys and researches are flavour of the season right now. Every month, every week, everyday a new study or survey is published in some magazine or journal. Generally the topic of these studies are okay types, but more often than not these are really very naive and surprisingly immature to the heights that one wonders, what prompted the doctor [as no one with less than a doctorate dares to accomplish these studies] to do it?

Remember-Remember, the CAT November

So this it! All the hoo-halaa and fuss died today. For almost a year now students all over the country were waiting for this ‘D-Day’ and then all of a sudden it all got over in just two and a half hours (technically 3). Today over 2.25 lac students appeared for, what can be called as the most anticipated exam of the country, CAT. Continue reading “Remember-Remember, the CAT November”

How Was Your Diwali?

Diwali is one of the biggest festivals of Bharat. Whole country was lit up and everyone was in a juvenile mood. The enthusiasm and excitement with which it is celebrated is unmatched and exorbitant. And why not? After all in this land of festivals there is more than one reason to celebrate this festival. In different parts of the country the festival is celebrated in a unique way, owing to a unique reason (but am not here to discuss the plethora of history and mythology associated with it, like any other Bharatiya festival). But there is one common thing which we all come across during the festival (rather it is after the festival) and that is the question “how was your Diwali?” Continue reading “How Was Your Diwali?”

IPC

Last week I received courts summon. The charges which it showed (although I could hardly interpretate the IPC section which it showed) but one thing which I realised was that, they were neither the common section 302 and 304 (used in cases of culpable homicide, this knowledge courtesy over dramatic court room scenes of Hindi flicks) nor those of over speeding and red light jumping. But something a little rare of stopping beyond the stop line at the red light. Well I guess it would have been better if I had jumped the red light, as then the cop might have missed out my car’s registration number. Well but that’s another possibility. Continue reading “IPC”

WMD’s

In my “Post Rakhi Post” I talked about the few things which are synonymous with this bhai-behan ka tyohar, one of them being the huge number of cars with women drivers (WMD) on the road. Almost every week there is some article or the other in some leading newspaper about Delhi cabs will be soon having WMD (not weapons of mass destructions), and how women are more responsible than male drivers. Then we also see articles about how the capital treats the women driving all alone, by giving those odd glances. So this post is about the WMD on the road and a few (quite odd) experiences which I have had with them. I won’t be surprised if after reading this post, some of you especially females, may regard my views as gender racist (don’t know even if it’s a valid term or not?), but let me tell you that these are real life experiences without any fabrications. Parents=Friends=??

“We are friends to our kids…we say no for nothing”…okay…so thats how u sum up a friend’s job?? This “parents r like friends” theory doesn’t really set into me…

Parents today take the path of saying no to nothing, just in order to stay in control…or atleast claim that they are the ones in control..

MP- Mobile [MANIAC] Phones!!!

Mobile phones are one thing which almost everyone is carrying around. Age, religion, sex, occupation, social status and caste are the parameters which no longer define the genre of mobile phone users. From a school going child to the person doing PhD, from the peon of a local-small office to the M.D of an MNC, from housewives to Home minister, everyone is using a mobile phone, courtesy cheap handset and schemes like lifelong validity, anyone can own one and that too at throw away prices. But this entry is certainly not about the increasing no. of mobile phone [MP= mobile phone or maniac phone as they should better be called] users or about the reason behind this increasing no. Working-IT-Out

This June, I celebrated the 1st anniversary. Anniversary of what if you bother to ask? After many failed attempts finally I succeeded in continuing my visit to the local gym and that too for a complete year. Now that is another thing that after looking at me you will not believe, simply because my physique or lack of physique [as I should call it] shows no sign of me going to the gym, why? That’s another story. . . Continue reading “Working-IT-Out”

Weddings. . . .

As they say weddings in India are a very grand affair. Pegged at Rs. 50,000 crores, this industry is growing at a robust 25% . . . . . . Business worth crores of rupees is done daily during the peak season. But this is an entirely different story and m not here to discuss about all the economics involved in BIG FAT INDIAN WEDDINGS. . . . . Continue reading “Weddings. . . .”
